The mission of the center is to provide an environment for students, faculty, and participating industry professional to collaborate and create novel information technology applications to keep our industry competitive and at the forefront of technology. The center is seen as an integral component of the future success of the computing and information technology related undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Oakland University. To achieve its mission, the center is devoted to:

Maintaining a dynamic, interactive computing environment with facilities for remote and virtual collaboration

Fostering creative and innovative applied research in information technology

Offering students and faculty opportunities to collaborate on industry sponsored projects through the Applied Information Technology Experience (AITE) program

Encouraging interdisciplinary research and projects

Organizing regular seminars on technology, profession, and entrepreneurship

Providing a channel to tap the expertise of retired but active computing and information technology professionals
